Diabetic alert dogs are the latest tool in diabetes management

A study, published in the British Medical Journal, shows dogs are able to alert to their owners' low blood sugars when the owners are unaware of the symptoms themselves.

This could be a lifesaver for diabetics who live alone or who have severe unawareness of their own low blood sugars. If not treated, a low blood sugar could result in a seizure, coma or death.

Mrs. Lorraine Jessep of Paws for Diabetics www.pfd.org.au has been coaching us during the start-up of our diabetic alert dog program.
